Experimenting ...

One of the best things about having my studio space is the many opportunities for experimenting...yesterday I started a new batch of cotton fabrics - clothes from The Gleaners ... all cut up into tiny pieces ... because we over use soap the beater works up a nice FROTH ... it's like scum, sometimes I just let the beater run and go do other things, checking in on it once in a while...sometimes it gets clogged up and i need to lift the lid and swirl things around.

So, back to yesterday, I had been busy doing ten million other things, for quite some time, and went to check on Holly and there was a HUGE pile of pulp scum dripping down, out of the water area, and it covered the floor in a 7sq ft area. Right away I grabbed a pile of white paper I had out to do some Gelli prints on for a long overdue swap Im doing with Erin from Ontario.

The scum stuck to the paper right away. It was amazing, and sofa king awesome! I felt like i had re invented the wheel ... after mopping up the mess with all of the paper, I went straight to the internet to google paper beater scum paper dying. Nothing. No one had invented it yet!

The paper is dried now and is for sale!
